Case Study Barbon – Turfing

New turf

Once the main patio had been laid we turned our attention to laying the turf.  The weather was forecast to be in our favour so the graded top soil was brought in, levelled and firmed in.  The indian sandstone edging had already been laid to form the mowing strip and retain the soil.  Next to be laid was the ‘Plantex’ membrane, this prevents the ingress of deep rooting weeds  and helps retain moisture through the summer months.  The turf is laid directly onto the plantex and watered in well.
