Some of you might already ready know and many of you will have no idea…….

But the time has come and we are closing the doors on our business and laying the tools down .

Since 2004 when I started on my own I have had a great time working in the area I love and meeting all of you along the way.

Stephen my brother, joined me in 2007 and for twelve years we worked together until the physical side of things became too much for Stephen and he left to be a machine operator for a local company near to where he moved to.

Graham my cousin, then joined me in 2019 to form Anthony & Graham Chaplow Landscaping Ltd and together we immediately faced the Covid pandemic and the unique challenges with which we had to endure. We managed to bumble our way through that safely and resurface to carry on with our work programme which was long and growing.

Some of our competitors were sadly taken by the pandemic and that made a real impact on us and how we were to continue,

with a bit of “we made it through” and a lot of “let’s enjoy every day” attitude to put it all in perspective.

For the next seven years Graham and I kept on labouring away and ensuring our standards were always met, and surpass the expectations of our clients which would often bring about a letter of thanks and recommendations to friends and family which enabled us to continue with a long list of clients.

And so the time has come and now my aches and pains have begun to magnify as did Stephen’s and the fun of every day is now overshadowed with a grimace here and grimace there when the swinging of the pick and shovel and the laying of heavy paving slabs on a continuous daily basis takes its toll, then our client would appear and remark with

“You lads don’t need to go the gym do you!” and present us with a well earned brew.

Winter is now edging ever closer, the cold and wet is now almost an every day certainty so this is now the time to wipe the tools clean, park up the vehicles and have a well earned rest.

We have closed the website down and stopped taking enquiries, the e mails have all but dried up and the phone is silent.

All we can do now is say “thank you”

“Thank you” to all of the business which have supported and supplied us with our materials over the years.

“Thank you” to all the wonderful friendly clients who have trusted us to work on their properties and install driveways and patios, lawns, fences, walls, drainage, resin surfaces and the list goes on !

“Thank you” to our ever supportive families who have to endure the ups and downs of their loved ones (us) being a small business owner in this ever demanding world.

So…….this is the end.
